Help with viewing the Neighbourhood Plan

The Neighbourhood Plan page summarises the Plan and allows you to download the document as a whole or in sections. The Plan and the section downloads are available as PDF, a standardised document format that should be viewable on any device including mobile phones and tablet computers.

For your convenience we have set out below details of how you can read the documents on common devices.

On your PC or Mac

To be able to view the Plan documents you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. Then from the Neighbourhood Plan page you click one of the PDF links to download the document you wish to view.

How your PC displays the documents will depend on how your computer is set up: you may find that they open a new web browser window or download direct onto your computers hard disk.

On an iPad

You should be able to view the PDF documents direct in Safari by clicking on the link in the Neighbourhood Plan page. If you have a PDF compatible app installed on your iPad (like the Adobe iPad PDF reader), from Safari tap the square icon (usually top right) and select ‘Open in’ –  you can then open the document in that app and  view it ‘offline’. Have a look at this website if you need further help.

Adobe’s website provides details of how to access PDFs on various mobile devices using its mobile apps.

On an Android Device (including Samsung, Amazon Fire and Tesco Hudl)

As with the iPad you should be able to view the PDF documents in your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome) and then have the option to download it to an alternative app. Adobe’s website provides details of how to access PDFs on various mobile devices using its mobile apps.

On a Kindle

You may need to use a special Amazon service to view the PDFs on your Kindle, but Amazon provides help with this including general information about reading your own documents and using the Send-to-Kindle service.

Files too big or problems using Dropbox?

The Neighbourhood Plan Group wanted you to see a high quality version of the document which is why as a whole the document is nearly 5MB in size. For that reason, the Plan is downloadable from Dropbox. If you have problems downloading such a large file or indeed accessing Dropbox, a lower quality version is available here (1.5MB in size)
